Situated on the Kingsbridge Estuary, the pretty town of Salcombe attracts visitors for its excellent range of shops and location as a popular sailing harbour. This maritime heritage is celebrated every year in a colourful regatta.

Regatta Week in Salcombe is packed with fun things to do and watch on and off the water. There are sailing events and competitions, air displays, processions and fireworks and even a sandcastle competition for the kids (and the kids at heart). For a whole week events are themed on or around the town’s relationship with the sea, and there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

The magical atmosphere created by the torchlight procession transforms the town centre and there is a carnival feeling to the whole regatta, but with a distinct South Devon twist. With planes roaring overhead during the air display you can expect to see performances by the Red Arrows and the awesome power of Chinook helicopters.

From the expected to the unusual there is a distinct West Country charm to Salcombe regatta, with art, theatre and live music combining with traditional working boat races and rowing events to entertain you.
