Devon loves nothing better than to celebrate its heritage, food, music, arts and crafts, which is why you’ll always be able to find fun and interesting things to do and see on your Devon Holidays. Festivals and events are part of West Country life from small, intimate events to huge, carnival-style gatherings.
June sees the Axe Vale Festival, which is a must for those interested in the secrets behind Devon’s beautiful blooms, while Bovey Tracey hosts the Contemporary Craft Festival with 200 of the UK’s finest designers, arts, music, entertainment and local food. If you want a bit more excitement, head over to the GoldCoast Oceanfest in Croyde for three days of music and adrenaline sports.
July sees the Tiverton Hot Air Balloon Festival where you will witness a whole host of colourful Hot Air Balloons, including Special Shapes, as the ascend!
August has the best in British and local music appearing at the Sidmouth Folk Week.
Even in the colder months, there’s something to celebrate, making family holidays in Devon perfect at any time of year. In September, you can head on over to Ivylive Music Festival, two days of live music and family fun, while Plymouth celebrates is unique maritime culture with the Plymouth Ocean City Festival. Agatha Christie fans flock to the English Riviera, as it transforms into the murder-mystery capital of the country. Literary fans will also enjoy the chance to meet and chat with high-profile authors at the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival and the Appledore Book Festival
