Two Bridges

A scattered hamlet where two main roads and the West Dart and Cowsick rivers converge.
Bridges have been here since ancient times hence the name of the hamlet and also its famous hotel, which replaced the Saracen's Head which was used far marketing vegetables.
Film star Vivien Leigh once stayed here.
To celebrate the building of the new hotel, Eden Phillpotts wrote The Rivers, one of 18 books set on the Moor. There are excellent walks on to the North Moor at Crockern Tor; site of a Stannary Parliament to the northeast.
