Pottery centre, reputed to be the largest village in the country, with attractive cottages and houses in the oldest area near a church which was rebuilt in the 15th century. In the churchyard there can still be seen the 'Fairwater', said to have been dug by monks in the thirteenth century to provide drinking water for the locals.
There are also pubs, shops, a post office and accommodation.

Situated on the northern edge of Newton Abbot.
