Chudleigh, Dartmoor

A market and wool town just off the A38 Exeter to Plymouth road. It has an attractive main street, dating mainly from the early 1800's with craft galleries and interesting buildings. Chudleigh Rock and the old limeklins are a popular visitor attraction in the town. Also close to Ugbrooke House (National Trust) set in Capability Brown gardens where the poet Dryden was a frequent visitor. Ugbrooke House, home of Lord and Lady Clifford, is open to the public during the summer.
There is a church, pubs, shops, a post office and accommodation. There is an attractive courtyard of small shopsand studios at Pottery Court.
