Mount Edgcombe, originally a smart Victorian 'gentleman's residence' now provides modern quality accommodation and tasty freshly cooked breakfasts and evening meals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Situated on a level tree lined avenue we are within easy walking distance of the seafront and many major attractions.
Torquay and Torre Railway Stations and The Riviera Conference and Leisure Centre are just a few minutes walk away. Castle Circus - the heart of Torquay's shopping area - is within walking distance and a short stroll the grounds of nearby Torre Abbey brings you to Torquay's main beach and the promenade with fabulous views of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham - the English Riviera. If you prefer to use public transport to explore our lovely corner of South Devon, we have frequent local bus service to take you into town and regular trains and ferries to many other delightful destinations and attractions, So if you have travellled to Torquay by car you may well be tempted to park your car in our car park and make use of our excellent public transport.

All of the guest rooms at Mount Edgcombe are en suite, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. We have single, double, twin and family rooms arranged on the ground and first floors. We have a comfortable lounge with a large wall mounted flat screen TV, a good selection of books and DVDs and a computer, connected to the internet, which is freely available for guests to use. Wireless internet connection is available free throughout the hotel. We also have a small licensed bar and stock popular wines, beers and spirits in addition to some excellent locally produced beverages.

Our ground floor dining room is pleasant, light and airy and overlooks our pretty courtyard. You'll be spoiled for choice with our Breakfast Menu - juices, smoothies, cereals, porridge, kippers, croissants - as well as a freshly cooked Full English are all on offer. Our quality 4 Course Evening Meals keeps may guests coming back to Mount Edgcombe year after year. We offer the best in traditional home cooking. Our starters are appertising and tasty - our fresh soup is always popular. Our main course dishes are varied but traditional and served with lots of fresh vegetables - all bought locally. Home baked puddings feature highly on our dessert menu - although lighter options and West Country Cheeses are always available too. As a silver Award Winner in the Green Tourism and Business Scheme, we are commited to supporting local businesses and purchase our fresh food daily from quality suppliers.
