Enjoy a relaxing stay at the historic Kilworthy Farm B&B, set in its own private valley, just 2.5 miles from Tavistock town centre, with outstanding views of Dartmoor. Kilworthy is a 150 acre working Farm producing beef, lamb and pork for the table and direct farm gate sales.
Follow one of our carefully marked out farm /nature trails and soak up the atmosphere of Devon wildlife at its best. Look for the tuneful skylarks, soaring buzzards, badgers, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs and many more birds which visit the large well kept gardens. They are equipped for guests to enjoy with furniture and a barbecue for their use. Or enjoy one of the well known Kilworthy Farm cream teas.
Recently refurbished rooms, private guest lounge and dining room. All home cooked and locally sourced food. Complimentary cream tea.
Steeped in history, Kilworthy Farm buildings received an English Heritage grant to preserve what has been described as buildings of national importance. Kilworthy Farm is well known for its range of Victorian farm buildings built in 1851-1853 by Francis, the 7th Duke of Bedford. The buildings consist of the remains of a waterwheel, the largest in Devon with a diameter of 30 feet, a granary/machinery barn, three parallel cow houses, an undercroft and a separate stable yard.
The buildings reflect the most advanced and visionary thinking of the day for beef production. The scale, technological innovation and extravagance of the Kilworthy farmstead make it of national significance and justifies its Grade II* status.
