East Prawle Farm Holidays – a farm holiday by the beach...
East Prawle Farm Holidays is the best of all worlds – on a working farm, yet close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the South Hams. There are two cottages: Higher House Farm and Honey Lane House - one sleeping 8, with its own self-contained garden and the other sleeping 6, with a patio. Both have ample parking and are ideal for a family holiday or groups looking for a walking or activity base. East Prawle is well-known for its flora and fauna and in recent years bird watchers have flocked to the area (pardon the pun) to catch sight of the Cirl Bunting, a species of bird whose numbers have declined rapidly over the last 25 years.
The Tucker family have lived and farmed at Higher House Farm since 1720 so there's real provenance in the hospitality. Ask owner, Vicky, anything about the area and she'll be able to tell you – whether it's where to find basking seals, the best coastal walk at sunset or best rockpools, she'll have the answer. The South West Coast Path actually runs through the surrounding farmland – so if you want a holiday you'll never forget, come down and walk the Start Bay Lighthouse to Salcombe section, a truly stunning and memorable walk.
There are no airs and graces at East Prawle Farm Holidays but if you're looking for somewhere to get away from it all, and relish the idea of being part of an environmentally friendly sheep and cattle farm, then these self-catering cottages are ideal. On a more social note, East Prawle Farm Holidays is just a short walk away from the Pigs Nose pub and just a short drive away from the Cricket Inn, Beesands or The Millbrook Inn, South Pool.
So whether you're a walker, a family, a cyclist or just want to get away from it all in one of the beautiful spots in Devon, then give Vicky a call...
