A short drive from the M5 East Barton is conveniently situated in the picturesque Exe Valley, 3 miles south of the market town of Tiverton.

The spacious stone farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated, providing 3 beautifully furnished guest rooms each with a luxury en suite bathroom. Relax in the charming guest sitting room, or unwind in the conservatory, browse through the tourist literature and check your emails. Wi-fi is available in all reception rooms and two of the bedrooms.

Enjoy a breakfast of your choice served in the elegant dining room looking out to the river Exe. Guests are invited to wander around the garden and grounds, and if we are available we very much enjoy giving a tour of the original 15th century farmhouse which is a grade 2* listed building.

For those wanting a little more independence we have a superb self-catering annexe. Travertine tiled with underfloor heading throughout, this spacious cottage sleeps two in a lovely bedroom with contemporary en suite bathroom. The magnificent sitting room, kitchen and dining area will easily accommodate four people. In order to maintain the highest standards we have not included a bed settee, instead additional guests enjoy preferential rates on accommodation in the main house. See our self catering entry to find out more.

The thatched village of Bickleigh is nearby with castle, mill, railway centre and much photographed 14th century bridge. Local inns offer good food at reasonable prices or opt for coffee or lunch at Yearlstone Vineyard, wine tasting is not obligatory! Being centrally situated, East Barton provides the ideal base for touring Exmoor and the North Devon coast, Dartmoor and the south coast: in fact just about all of the glorious West Country!
