On the western slopes of Dartmoor, right inside Dartmoor National Park, two beautifully converted stone barns set in a tiny rural hamlet with the open moor only a few minutes walk up a no through lane. Visit Britain 3 Stars
This is an ideal place to get away from it all with panoramic views. Peter Tavy, the nearest village, (1 mile) has a very good pub. Tavistock (3 miles), a delightful place to browse, has an excellent Tourist Information Centre and won 'Best Market Town 2004'.
There are endless possibilities for exploring the area: breathtaking landscape, historic remains of Bronze Age stone rows and circles etc. Golf and fishing is available nearby. North and South coasts are less than an hours drive with surfing beaches and more remote ones where seals can be seen. There is a choice of riding stables in the area and stabling may be arranged at Old Sowtontown for holidaymakers wishing to bring their own horse.
'The Shippen' sleeps up to 4 people and 'The Barn' up to 6 people. Both properties have large beams and attractive stonework. Competitive prices. Pets welcome. Do call us or see full details and photos on our website.
