Road Directions

From Exeter:
Take Okehampton [A30] exit of Exeter bypass. Stay on this dual carriageway until shortly after bypassing Okehampton, then exit left to Tavistock [A386]. After about 8 miles (12.5km) you will go through Mary Tavy. Continue straight on for another mile, then look out for a signpost left to Peter Tavy. After 200 yards / metres you will cross a narrow bridge, fork immediately right, continue for about 1/2 a mile (0.8km) up a steep windy hill and at the top take a left turn signposted to Sowtontown.

After 1/4 mile (0.4km), pass a farmhouse on the left and then a bungalow on the right, then round one more bend you will find us on the right hand side. 'Old Sowtontown' is written on the wooden entrance gate. Please drive in.

From Tavistock either:
(a) Take the Okehampton road and after about 2 miles (3km) cross over the old railway bridge and almost immediately take a right turn signposted to Peter Tavy.

After 200 yards / metres you will cross a narrow bridge; fork immediately right, continue for about 1/2 mile (0.8km) up a steep windy hill and at the top take a left turn signposted to Sowtontown.

(b) Take the Princetown road out of Tavistock. Just over 1 mile (1.5km) after leaving Tavistock look out for a minor crossroads (by white cottage on the right) and turn left signposted to Peter Tavy. Continue for 1 mile & take right turn signposted to Sowtontown. After 1/4 mile (0.4km), pass a farmhouse on the left and then a bungalow on the right, then round one more bend you will find us on the right hand side. 'Old Sowtontown' is written on the wooden entrance gate. Please drive in.
