Bovisand Heritage Apartments
Bovisand Lodge is a historical Grade 2 listed Country House, providing three outstanding Heritage Apartments located within the wing of the house. Each apartment has been meticulously converted with fully integrated kitchens, stylish soft furnishings and superb shower rooms with under floor heating. Each apartment has individual terraced patios with teak garden furniture and gas a barbeque. The famous Plymouth Breakwater and the Cornish Coast can be seen from both the Rennie and Whidbey Apartments.
Situated in an idyllic rural environment, beside a safe sandy beach, on the Southwest Coastal Path; Bovisand Heritage Apartments are perfect for walking holidays and nature lovers. Equally, it is an ideal location for family holidays. we have a play park for smaller children, including a badminton, tennis and football net; a large field for more energetic games and rock pools on the beach to be explored.
We are only six miles from Plymouth city centre or 4 miles to the historic Barbican area of Plymouth by water taxi, from the Mountbatten Watersports centre, only a distance of 2.5 miles.
Beautiful Dartmoor and quaint Cornish fishing villages are only a short drive away.
Bovisand Cottage
Bovisand Cottage is a delightful 3-bedroom detached cottage standing in its own private grounds in a sunny wooded valley. The Cottage has been renovated and refurbished over the last 2 years whilst retaining that cosy cottage character which so many of our frequent visitors enjoy.(www.bovisand-cottage.co.uk)
There is a patio at the front which is ideal for sun bathing and barbecues, with a level lawned area extending from it. In the outer grounds of the Cottage there is a small reservoir (well fenced) which was built during the Napoleonic Wars, and which is of interest to nature lovers as wild duck nest there; several rare birds have been sighted and there is an abundance of eels! Badgers, foxes, rabbits and pheasant are well in attendance for most of the year and it is not uncommon to pass any of them when coming down the lane at night. In addition you may have the company of our three pet geese and goats which reside from time to time in paddock in front of the Cottage.
I would also mention that the Cottage was our home until we moved across to the other side of the valley, where we renovated the Lodge, in the grounds of which we run a small uncommercialised holiday park.
From the Cottage it is approximately 500 yards to a safe sandy beach at the entrance to Plymouth Sound, looking across the breakwater to the Cornish village of Cawsand. At the low tide there are many rock pools to explore which are a delight to children. For the walker there are many public footpaths and scenic cliff walks. Within a mile there is a golf course at Staddon Heights and riding stables at Wembury, five miles away.
